NCC Cadet Parishmita Borgohain, a third-year BA student at Manohari Devi Kanoi Girls’ College, Dibrugarh, has been selected to represent India in the prestigious Youth Exchange Programme (YEP) to Nepal under the National Cadet Corps. The programme, scheduled from November 2 to 10, marks a significant achievement for the young cadet and brings immense pride to Assam.

A member of 63 Assam Battalion NCC, Dibrugarh, under the NCC Directorate North Eastern Region, Parishmita boasts an impressive record of accomplishments. She attended the Republic Day Camp 2025 in New Delhi, where she was honoured as the Best Cadet. She also received the Best Cadet Award from the NCC Directorate NER for her exemplary performance and leadership qualities.

“This opportunity to represent India on an international platform is both an honour and a responsibility. I am grateful to my mentors and family for their unwavering support,” Parishmita said whilst expressing her excitement about the upcoming programme.

Known for her academic excellence and discipline, the 20-year-old continues to inspire her peers through dedication and hard work. A resident of Gohain Gaon, Dhemaji, she is the only daughter of Projnanjyoti Borgohain, a businessman, and Jahnabi Borgohain, a health worker.

Her achievement has been made possible through constant guidance from officers and staff at Group HQ NCC, Dibrugarh, and 63 Assam Battalion NCC, Dibrugarh.

“Cadet Borgohain exemplifies the values of leadership, discipline, and national service that the NCC strives to instil in our cadets,” remarked a senior NCC officer from the Dibrugarh battalion.
