Following the NDA’s decisive victory in the Bihar Assembly elections, jubilant celebrations erupted across BJP ranks in Assam on Friday evening. State Power Minister and Dibrugarh MLA Prasanta Phukan led the festivities at the Dibrugarh District BJP Office, bursting firecrackers to mark the significant electoral triumph.
The sound of fireworks echoed across the area as over 200 BJP workers and supporters, including District BJP President Dulal Bora, gathered to exchange sweets and congratulate each other on the NDA’s performance in Bihar.
Extending his congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, Minister Phukan said the massive mandate reflected the people’s unwavering trust in the NDA government.
“The people of Bihar have once again reposed their faith in the NDA under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nitish Kumar. This victory demonstrates the strength of our alliance and the trust people have in our governance,” Minister Phukan stated.
Expressing confidence about Assam’s political future, he added that the BJP would secure a similar landslide victory in the upcoming Assam Assembly elections under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Taking a swipe at the opposition, Minister Phukan remarked that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi should “quit politics and open a shop in London,” suggesting the opposition’s diminishing relevance in Indian politics.
The sweeping NDA victory in Bihar has significantly boosted the morale of BJP workers and supporters across Assam, particularly in Dibrugarh, where the party sees it as a positive indicator for the upcoming state elections.
Party workers expressed optimism that the Bihar results would set the tone for electoral success in Assam, reinforcing the BJP’s position as the dominant political force in the northeastern state. The celebration reflected the party’s growing confidence as it prepares for future electoral battles in the region.
