Government officials and employees gathered in Dibrugarh for a two-day workshop that concluded Saturday, addressing critical pension and General Provident Fund issues affecting workers across the district.
The “Pension and GPF Samadhan” programme, organised jointly by the Accountant General (A&E) office Assam, ARTPPG department, and Dibrugarh district administration, took place on October 31 and November 1. The event provided a platform for resolving long-pending grievances related to retirement benefits and provident fund settlements.

Principal Accountant General Dr. Gaurav Kumar assured participants of swift action on their concerns. “We will try to resolve the issues directly and immediately,” he told the gathering, signaling the department’s commitment to addressing backlogs efficiently.
Deputy Accountant General Snehasis Mukherjee delivered an informative session identifying common procedural errors and offering guidance to help employees avoid future complications. “Understanding these mistakes is crucial for smooth processing,” Mukherjee explained during his presentation.

Additional District Commissioner Sultana Akhtara Ahmed welcomed the initiative, describing it as highly beneficial for the district. “Having such workshops at the district level brings services closer to the people who need them most,” Ahmed remarked.
A dedicated capacity-building session formed the cornerstone of the programme, where senior accountants from the Accountant General’s office provided detailed briefings on GPF final payment processes, pension settlement procedures, and application requirements. The hands-on approach allowed participants to clarify doubts and gain practical insights.

The workshop drew substantial attendance from Drawing and Disbursing Officers, Pension Sanctioning Authorities, Treasury Officers, retired personnel, and administrative staff from various government departments. This initiative reflects the administration’s effort to decentralise services and ensure that pension and GPF benefits reach beneficiaries without unnecessary delays or complications.
